PeerSense Research
Data Usage and Citation Policy
PeerSense research and open datasets are free to use in your articles, reports and posts, provided you credit PeerSense with a link back to the source page. We publish this data so it gets used. All we ask in return is attribution and a live link.
What you can do
- Quote our findings and figures in articles, blog posts, newsletters, reports and presentations.
- Republish our charts, tables and stat callouts.
- Download our open datasets as CSV or JSON and build on them.
- Adapt and remix the data for your own analysis.
All we ask
Credit PeerSense as the source and include a live link back to the page you drew the data from. This is a standard Creative Commons BY 4.0 attribution. The link matters as much as the name, so please keep it clickable rather than plain text.
Example attribution
Source: PeerSense analysis of 379,703 seasoned SBA loans, https://peersense.com/research/sba-loan-default-study-2026
Each study page carries ready made citations in plain, HTML and academic formats, plus an embeddable stat callout. Copy the format you need directly from the study.
Where to find the data
- SBA Lending Risk by Industry, the seasoned cohort study.
- Safest and Riskiest Industries for SBA Loans, the full industry ranking.
- Industry data library, default rates and lenders across 100 plus sectors.
- Open dataset catalog, every PeerSense dataset as CSV and JSON.
Source and method
Our SBA studies are built on loan level SBA 7(a) and 504 records, the same public disbursement data the SBA releases, loaded into the PeerSense data warehouse and analyzed on fully resolved loans. Each study page shows its own methodology and loan counts so any figure can be checked. PeerSense is a capital advisory and lender network, not a lender. The intelligence behind this research is the same intelligence we use to match a borrower to the lender most likely to fund their specific deal.
